WGSF is pleased to announce the athletes for the 2025 WDSC Championship Tour. In continuing to recognize participation in international events, WGSF selected the podium from the World Skate Games 2022, in addition to selecting the top 2024 selected riders as well as the top athletes from the 2024 Qualifying Series. The list of selected riders can be found on https://worlddownhillskateboardingchampionship.com/wdsc-2025-riders/.
In anticipation of an exciting 2025 season, WGSF is announcing the qualification requirements for the 2026 season. To continue to support the entire international community WGSF will select the podium from World Skate’s Men’s Downhill Skateboard and Men’s Street Luge World Championship to participate in the equivalent WDSC Open Categories. In addition the top two finishers in Women’s Downhill Skateboard and the top finisher in Women’s Street Luge will also be selected.
For Open Downhill Skateboarding the top 20 selected 2025 riders will continue to race in 2026 CT.. The top 9 riders from the Qualifying Series, not already selected, will be asked to join the 2026 CT. For Open Street Luge the top 9 Street Luge 2025 selected riders will continue, with the top 4 (not already selected) from the 2025 qualifying series also selected.
For the Women’s Downhill Standup class, the top 4 CT women will continue on in 2026, joined by the top 2 QS women, not already selected. For Women’s Street Luge, the top two CT women will continue, joined by the top QS, unselected finisher.
WGSF reserves the right to select 2 additional wildcard entries, for each of the four categories, for each of the events.
WGSF is hard at work creating the schedule of events for 2025. Every attempt will be made to pair a qualifying series race with a WDSC CT race. When the events are paired at least 8 Open Stand Up QS racers will earn a spot in the weekend’s CT race. At least 4 from Open Street Luge, 2 from Women’s Stand Up, and 1 from Women’s Street Luge will have an opportunity to advance to that weekend’s CT race. If fewer selected riders attend the event, there will be an opportunity for more QS riders to compete. But in the event that most or all of the selected CT riders compete, there is a distinct possibility that some people will be cut after a single round of qualifying. As always, everyone is welcome to compete at the QS level, until the event is sold out.
As always, if there are enough women athletes to fill at least 3 women in each heat, then the next race will be utilized for the CT race. This means if 12 or more women compete in stand up, there will be a 16 person women’s race. Recently WDSC pledged to add a third broadcast program if there are more than 8 women racing!
WS World Championship |
2025 CT Position | 2025 QS Position | Total | |
Open Downhill Skateboard | 3 | 20 | 9 | 32 |
Women’s Downhill Skateboard | 2 | 4 | 2 | 8 |
Open Street Luge | 3 | 9 | 4 | 16 |
Women’s Street Luge | 1 | 2 | 1 | 4 |
For each column, the number represents the number of competitors already selected. For example if the WS World Champion is also one of the top CT competitors, an additional CT rider will be selected. And if the top 3 QS competitors are selected as top CT competitors, then the next 3 QS competitors will be selected.
